Remote but not Removed

We are far from everything but that doesn’t mean we don’t have options. While housing, groceries, fuel and meal options are limited, we are just a short drive from anything you might need while onsite at Playas.

Accommodations Off-site

If you choose to stay off-site, the closest hotels are in Lordsburg (80 miles/1 hour 20 min drive roundtrip) or Deming (150 miles/2 hours 30 min drive roundtrip). Please be aware of the commute time between these towns and Playas and how that might impact your schedule of events.

Fuel Recommendations

The closest gas stations with 24/7 pumps are in Animas (~20 miles West) or Hachita (20 miles East). This mileage estimate is for one-way, not roundtrip.

Grocery Off-site

There are NO dining options at Playas. It is recommended you bring a cooler with your own food and drinks to last throughout your stay. Houses and apartments are equipped with refrigerators to store your food during your stay.

For longer stays at Playas where it is not feasible to bring all your food/drinks for your stay, the closest grocery stores are in Lordsburg (40 miles West; 40 min drive) or Deming (75 miles East; 1 hr 15 min drive). This mileage/time estimate is for one-way, not roundtrip.
