A Coalition of Collaborators
When you live and operate in a location as remote as Playas, it really does take a village. PRTC depends heavily on collaborative partnerships to combine diverse expertise, resources, and perspectives to tackle complex research questions and prepare stronger national security forces. These partnerships lead to more impactful results by utilizing each partner's strengths and increasing the potential for real-world application. Our collaborative model allows us to address challenges more effectively and efficiently than we could alone.
ICASA
The Institute for Complex Additives Systems Analysis (ICASA) researches the additive effects of efficient design in complex interdependent systems including dynamical systems, control theory, mathematical physics, and economics using theoretical analysis, modeling, and simulation.
Applications to real-world problems in the private and public sectors
Development of key enabling technologies to assist in applying research results
Data Analysis and Visualization Environment (DAVE)
EMRTC
The Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) performs Research, Development, Testing, and Experimentation (RDT&E) of all types of energetic materials from improvised explosive devices to military munitions for government, academia, and industry. EMRTC includes:
40 sq miles able to store up to 500,000 pounds of explosives and conduct tests over 20,000 pounds
30+ test and research sites, gun ranges, high performance magazines, cook-off site hypervelocity gun systems, sled track, countermine test
Cast and pour, structural and infrastructure testing, instrumentation and imaging
Research Office
The New Mexico Tech Research & Economic Development (R&ED) Office encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative work between faculty, students, and other universities and research entities. R&ED provides financial support, professional and technical expertise, and special services and facilities to assist researchers at New Mexico Tech. PRTC offers many opportunities and facilities for research.
